š¤ Jamieās Coachella Recap: What to Eat & Who to Watch for Weekend 2
If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I had the best time at Coachella. In honor of that, I am doing a special edition of Jamieās List: my Coachella weekend one recap.
For those of you lucky people going to weekend two ā I am very jealous. And even if you arenāt going, youāre in luck because YouTube is back again with their amazing livestream, so you can catch all of these performances from the comfort of your couch. Unfortunately, the only thing those of you at home canāt do is check out a few of my favorite bites.
š¤āļø Coachella Edition šµš”
Shlap Muan Wings - My favorite bite of the fest (which was nice as it was the thing I was most excited to eat). The wings, the noodles ā it was all great. Sadly, their Pasadena location closed, but you can find them in Long Beach.
Sumo Dog - This place was a surprise, not only the hot dog, but the chicken katsu was delicious as well. They have multiple locations, including at SoFi stadium ā you should check them out.
Farmhouse Thai Kitchen - So good. Fried chicken ā delish. They also have a few spots across California, but their LA one can be found on West Adams.
Birrieria San Marcos - Wow, what a great surprise. Get the dorado tacos and check their Instagram to see if their food truck is in your area.
Camphor - This burger and fry combo always delivers ā whether in the desert or at their DTLA restaurant.
AllāAntico Vinaio - I didn't actually get to eat this as the lines were too long, but itās a crowd favorite. They have a few spots around the city, including a new outpost in Venice.
Obviously Tacos 1986, Irvās, Prince Street Pizza, and Bang Bang are solid options if you want a taste of LA in the desert.
Aside from the food, there happened to be a little music as well.
Based on my experience, I put together a list of the canāt miss artists. If you canāt make it in person, all of these performances are available on YouTube.
š¶ Friday š¶
Thee Sacred Souls - Theyāre one of my top 5 Spotify wrapped artists of 2024, and they did not disappoint.
Lola Young - What a treat she is. So much fun, such great energy and such a cool voice. She wasnāt prepared for the heat of Coachella in weekend one and was concerned she was going to throw up during her entire set, so hopefully for weekend 2 she will be better prepared.
Three 6 Mafia - These legends crushed it. So fun to see them still at it, and amazing to see some great guests, canāt wait to see who they bring out on weekend 2.
Kneecap - Since you all read every word of this newsletter, you will remember that one of my favorite foreign films of 2024 was called KNEECAP. This is the band that stars in it, and seeing these guys live was so fun ā they really bring the energy.
Benson Boone - This guy is special. I said during his set that he reminded me of Freddie Mercury, which I thought was very clever, until he did his own version of Bohemian Rhapsody with a special appearance from Queen guitarist Brian May. Turns out I wasn't the first person to say that. Catch this set if you can, my guess is this one will be talked about as his star continues to rise.
DJ Premier - Now this is a DJ that I can get down with.
The MarĆas - Another group I had never heard of before the festival, but they brought the house down. I loved them so much.
Missy Elliott - Wow Wow Wow, she is on an entire other level. Iāve been a Missy fan since day one, but had no idea she was going to bring an intergalactic show ā she is at the top of the live performance game.
GloRilla- There is such a strong crop of bad-ass female artists today, and GloRilla is one of them. This was so fun and there was a special addition with Teyana Taylor doing the artistic direction.
Lady Gaga - Nothing to say about her performance that hasn't been said, but to be honest I am even more excited to watch this at home. Sheās one of a kind.
DJ Mustard - What a great set, this guy has really come into his own. MUSTAAAAAARD.
š¶ Saturday š¶
Gustavo Dudamel & LA Phil - I canāt describe how much I loved this. I had no idea what I was going to see, I planned to watch for 5 minutes, and it turned into one of my top 5 of the festival. There will be all new guest artists for weekend 2, but I canāt imagine it will disappoint. For those of you Angelenos, itās time to get your LA Phil tickets before Dudamel heads to NY in 2026.
Charli xcx - I was excited for Charli, but wasn't prepared for how major a star she is. She is at the top of the game: great music, incredible stage presence, and just so much fun.
Clairo - Another top 5 of the fest and another reason Coachella and music festivals are so great. I had no idea who she was even when I showed up at her set ā all I knew was she was one of Rileyās favorites. Now I know why. She is special. Everything about her performance was perfect. Just watch and prepare to love it.
Travis Scott - Travis is a true musical genius. I have heard some complaints about this set, the biggest one was that he performed 75% of the show from a satellite stage in the middle of the fans. For those of us in the front, it wasn't ideal, but for those in the back, it was a rare opportunity to see a mega star up much closer. This guy is a truly great performer and a brilliant mind.
š¶ Sunday š¶
BigXthaPlug- I thought I knew this guy when I showed up, but I barely knew one song. Still, I loved every moment. Such a fun performer, try and check this one out for a minute if you can.
Megan Thee Stallion - She blew me away. I honestly didn't know what to expect for this show, and her energy was so powerful it was infectious. I loved every minute. She is a mega star.
Zedd - I have been a fan of his song āClarityā for years, but would have never chosen to see him perform. After his guest appearance with Dudamel, I was intrigued by this performance for his full show ā and he did not disappoint. It is safe to say that his closing performance of āClarityā was the most magical moment of the entire weekend. It was something I will never forget, 100,000 people with their flashlights in the air all singing and dancing along. What a set. Thank you, Zedd.

Itās time for some self-promotion because tomorrow, The Accountant 2 is out in theaters. As an Executive Producer on this film, I am honored to play a small part of bringing this incredible project to the world. The brilliant director Gavin OāConnor delivers another high energy film with great performances from Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal. I also want to take a moment to congratulate Lynette Howell Taylor for spending the last 9 years working tirelessly to get this film made ā proving just how valuable a great producer is. It was her ānever give upā attitude that made this sequel happen . Gavin OāConnor, the class act he is, talked about this at the premiere while holding back tears. It was a beautiful moment and Iām so glad Lynette got the recognition she deserves. I hope you all make time to head to the theater this weekend and check out The Accountant 2.
Today's email was brought to you by Jamie Patricof and team, including Michaela Sullivan and Stazy Mazo.
