I started writing a bi-weekly food newsletter. It was just for me and my friends at first; tips and tricks on new and old restaurants in LA and around the world. It’s following grew quickly, now boasting over 1000 readers. From the get go, I imagined creating a web service to go hand in hand with the newsletter. My hypothesis was this: foodies will do anything and go anywhere for a good meal. But most people can’t or won’t do the research.
I want to appeal to most people. It’s hard to know which sources you can trust. We don’t know these food writers or what their tastes are. We trust our friends recommendations over NY Times or Eater on the daily. Jamie’s List is just that: recommendations from friends. But we have a lot of friends and they have tried everything!
