Waiting for a Table: McDonald’s

I have a confession to make: I love McDonald’s.  It might be the restaurant I want if I could only take one place to a desert island. They literally have something for everyone. This week was a big week. It was the 50th Anniversary of the Big Mac. You know the song, sing it with me, Two All Beef Patties, Special Sauce, Lettuce, Cheese, Pickles, Onions on a Sesame Seed Bun. Created in 1968 by McDonald’s franchisee Jim Deligatti, it was originally named The Aristocrat and the Blue Ribbon Burger, the 1st version actually failed, but then Jim switched the original bun with a Sesame Seed bun and the rest is history. We all have our orders, and no matter what, there is no argument of who has the best fries in the world. What do you get? Two Cheeseburgers, Quarter Pounder w/ cheese, Chicken Nuggets, the McMuffin. My wife even eats the Filet O Fish (that’s where i draw the line). That’s not even beginning to mention their desserts. That Apple Pie sure isn’t real apples, but it is damn good.  In honor of the Big Mac’s Birthday, I will be having one and so should you.
